If you’ve met someone through an Asian dating website and things are working out, chances are you might be headed to China to meet in person at some point. China is a beautiful country with varied terrain, including several spectacular deserts.
Chinese deserts are not to be missed, especially if you enjoy natural wonders. You might have already heard of the Gobi desert, but there are plenty of other deserts worth visiting. Here are some of the most beautiful deserts in China:
· Shapotou Desert in Ningxia. Situated on the north shore of the Yellow River, this desert consists mostly of sand slopes that are reminiscent of waterfalls. It is ideal to visit the Shapotou during the summer and fall months.
· Badain Jaran Desert in Inner Mongolia. This desert lies about 1,700 meters above sea level and spans almost 50,000 square kilometers. It’s the third largest desert in China and features mountains, sprawling sand, lakes, springs and temples. It is especially beautiful between May and October.
· Taklimakan Desert in Xinjiang. This is China’s largest desdert and features shifting sand dunes. The dune shapes change unpredictably, although there are two giant red and white dunes that take their shape and color from nearby sedimentary rocks. It is best to visit between autumn and spring, with mid-November being particularly magical.
· Gurbantunggut Desert in Xinjiang. China’s second largest desert, situated in the center of the Dzungarian Basin, is the largest fixed and semi-fixed desert in existence. There you’ll find oases, smooth sand, and even manmade wonders. It can be visited any time of year.
If you’ve never been to China and Asian dating leads you to the country, be sure to visit at least one of these impressive deserts!
