Chinese Girls

Want to date Chinese girls, but are too nervous?

Have you always wanted to date Chinese girls but are painfully shy?  Don’t let your shyness ruin an opportunity for love – it’s time to get out of your head and into the moment.

Love hearts

Every shy person knows that they spend too much time worrying about the “what ifs” in social situations.  We also know that it can be hard to just let go and get into the moment, so we’ve put together a list of tips of dating techniques for extremely shy people that will work when you date Chinese girls or anyone else:

  • What are you interested in?  Remember, the more you talk about things that you are interested in and care about, the more relaxed you’ll ultimately be.  Overcoming shyness starts with being able to start a conversation.
  • Practice.  Before you go on the first date, practice a little.  You can make a video of yourself practicing small talk.  Do this often and you’ll probably feel a little less weird when it’s the real deal.
  • Try not to fidget.  If you’re nervous, chances are you’re going to be fidgeting, but try to keep this to a minimum. A good way to achieve this is by pressing your index finger and thumb together for a few moments and repeating the process; this can actually calm you as well!
  • Wear something interesting.  We’re not telling you to wear something off the wall, but go for something that can be a conversation-starter.  Wearing something that your date will notice and comment on is definitely a smooth way to break the ice.

The good news is that as you get older, shyness usually lessens, and it is perfectly normal to feel a little shy and nervous on the first date.  Just remember to be honest and try to enjoy yourself.

Taking Chinese girls to the Moon Festival

So you’ve been dating a couple of Chinese girls online and would like to visit China and meet them in person.  When should you go?
Well, this really depends on your schedule and budget, but if you plan to be in China during the first week of September this year, you might consider going to the Mid-Autumn Festival, which is also commonly referred to as the Moon Festival.

The festival takes place every year on the 15th day in the eighth month of the Chinese calendar, which is typically September or October on the Gregorian calendar.  This year, the festival happens to take place on September 6th, 7th, and 8th.  The fall weather makes this festival one of the most enjoyable events throughout the year, especially for those just visiting the country.

The Moon Festival is a lovely way to spend the day with Chinese girls you’ve been dating online.  People usually have the days of the festival off from work and are able to enjoy the celebrations, which historically observed the moon’s movement, the changing seasons, and agriculture.  The festival itself dates back to the Zhou Dynasty (1046-256 BC).

On a more romantic note, the festival also commemorates Chang E, who flew to the moon because she drank her husband’s elixir in order to protect it.  The festival is a lot of fun, with participants enjoying moon cakes, storytelling, and lantern games.

Are subservient Chinese girls a myth?

We all know that there are a lot of stereotypes out there about Chinese girls, including that they are often subservient when it comes to their personal relationships with men.  We’ve also heard that some stereotypes are based at least partly in truth.

Racial stereotypes

What does “subservient” actually mean?  According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the word is an adjective describing someone who is “very willing or too willing to obey someone else.”  If you’ve met any Chinese girls, you might have already realized that this definition does not work for most of them.

If this stereotype has any truth to it at all, it might come from the fact that the Chinese culture is very male-dominated.  In the most traditional and stereotypical sense, Chinese women are expected to serve their men.  Chinese women are also expected to keep quiet and not draw attention to their thoughts or openly disagree with their husbands.

This subservient woman might have been prominent in years past, but today, young Chinese women are more empowered than ever, which might make them even more attractive to Western men.

It is important to remember that stereotypes can be hurtful, and as you date Chinese women, you should keep that in mind.  They can even be damaging to self-esteem and they cause many misconceptions about a particular group.  Although it can be hard to get such ideas out of your head, make an effort so that you do not jeopardize a potentially long and rewarding relationship.

Law requires Chinese girls and boys to visit parents when grown

If you’re into dating Chinese girls, you might want to know that one day, you might legally be required to visit her parents when they are old.

Let’s face it: many of the laws in the United States are very different from the laws in China.  For example, in 2013, the Chinese government passed a law that requires children to visit and care for their aging parents.  So if you’ve been dating Chinese girls and are thinking of marrying one in the future, this law might apply to you indirectly.

According to statistics, elderly people in China will make up around 35 percent of the population by 2053 and the country is already having enough problems caring for its aging population.

Basically, the law requires adult children to visit or at least keep in touch with their aging parents or face being sued.  Surprisingly, this law didn’t really change the status quo, as it has been quite common for older parents to sue their grown children for emotional and financial support.  The law also doesn’t dictate how frequently kids must visit Mom and Dad or what the penalties could be if they don’t.

Although this might seem like a crazy law to people in the West, many Chinese people do not see it as such.  If you are already in a relationship with a Chinese woman, you might want to discuss this law and see what she thinks about it.
