Is dating Chinese women different from dating American women?

There should be no doubt in your mind that if you want to date Chinese women, things might be a little different than if you were to date an American girl. After all, China is a nation with thousands of years of tradition, culture, and history.

What is it like to date Chinese women? The basics are the same, of course, but there are quite a few things that are very different. Here’s an introduction to some of the differences.

  • When dating begins: Unlike many Western countries, dating in China doesn’t usually begin until after men and women have entered their college years. High school kids simply have too much work to do in preparation for university.
  • There’s a pragmatic approach to dating: In China, the overall view of dating is a pragmatic one. It isn’t always about finding your soulmate; it’s more about finding a person who fits in with your own ideals.
  • Mom and Dad are very involved: Although this is becoming less of an issue in modern times, the parents have traditionally played a large role in dating in China. Although their role might have lessened over the years, if Mom and Dad don’t approve, it might not bode very well for your relationship.
  • Premarital sex: In most cases, sex before marriage isn’t the norm, although attitudes toward sex are changing in more metropolitan areas.

Keep in mind that these are just generalizations. Not every Chinese woman fits into the same mold, just like you’ll find a variety of attitudes among American women. The important thing is to learn about and respect her beliefs and attitudes.

Why so many single Chinese women go for Western guys

It seems that many single Chinese women are interested in dating Western guys rather than their male Chinese counterparts. Why does this appear to be the case?

There are many arguments as to why so many single Chinese women go for Western guys, but a prevalent theory is pretty simple: many Chinese men want wives that are easier to control. Today’s modern Chinese woman isn’t the meek China doll-type that stereotypes would have us believe.

Today, millions of Chinese women aged 26 to 34 remain unmarried. These are those “leftover” women we all hear about. The reason they don’t get married so young is that they place emphasis and importance on education and career, something that has come to intimidate more traditional Chinese men. As a result, these women often turn to the United States and Europe for their romantic conquests.

It seems that men in Western countries don’t have a problem with independent, free-thinking single Chinese women. They welcome the idea of dating a woman who has a career and doesn’t want to just stay at home, so it makes sense that Chinese women would consider dating outside of the Chinese dating pool.

The truth is that it doesn’t really matter why so many Chinese women like to date Western guys. What matters is that they are able to connect with Western men, build a relationship, and hopefully one day enjoy a little romance – something that has been made so much easier thanks to the internet and online dating services.

What not to do if you want a date Asian women online

It appears that a lot of guys are looking to get a date with Asian women online these days: many Asian women are beautiful, fun, smart and interesting, and they have a wonderfully rich culture that many men find fascinating.

Here are some things to avoid saying and doing if you want to actually get a date with Asian women online – or any women, for that matter!

  • Saying you really only like Asian women. A good way to seem as creepy as possible is to declare your desire to exclusively date Asian women and to list all the reasons why. We know that a lot of guys have preferences, but you don’t have to advertise it or she might think that’s the only reason you’re interested.
  • Stating why you think white men are better than Asian guys. While it is true that many Asian girls enjoy dating white men, they might not think that they are better than their Asian counterparts. Stay away from racial profiling and stereotyping.
  • Declaring that you know what all Asian women want. When did you become an expert on what Asian women want? Online dating affords you the opportunity to meet a wide variety of women, so try to learn about each one as an individual and hopefully find a meaningful relationship.
  • Asking insulting or obnoxious questions. It is never a good idea to use your online dating profile to make fun of someone or ask outlandish questions. Don’t be that guy who has a “friend” who told him all these wild tales of the East.

When you find someone you might be interested in, let her know, but be sure to do it in a kind, respectful way. After all, you want her to do the same for you, right? Good luck!

Asian singles find love matches for their dogs

Love is in the air for Asian singles and their dogs… Who doesn’t want their four-legged friend to find true love just like Lady and the Tramp did?

Dogs in a car

Believe it or not, one of the most popular dating shows in China and among many Asian singles is a dating show for dogs on the Chinese television network Jiang Su TV. The show is pretty straightforward; some dogs are thrown together and romance ensues with the help of a matchmaker.

In each episode, the program welcomes eight dog owners and their corresponding pups. The idea is sort of like the Westminster Kennel Dog Show meets The Dating Game; each canine contestant showcases his or her special tricks and good looks in hopes of attracting dogs of the opposite sex.

The show features a judge and some special guests that help move the matchmaking along. The show is actually a spinoff of a very similar dating game show that is intended for humans. The show was so popular among viewers in China that a canine version was developed to capitalize on its success.

When you meet that special someone online and the topic of television and entertainment comes up, why not ask if she likes this show?  It is a great conversation starter even if neither of you have ever seen the show. Perhaps your dog and her dog could even be contestants!
